NOTA is the latest political drama that marks the debut of Vijay Devarakonda in Tamil. The young hero is pretty much excited with the way the things progressed around the film. The film was promoted well in Tamil Nadu and both the Telugu states. Mehreen Kaur played the heroine and Vijay will be seen as a chief minister in the film. Satyaraj and Nasser will be playing crucial roles in the movie. The film was into multiple controversies but the film unit overcame all of them. Vijay who scored a blockbuster with Geetha Govindam is all set to prove his box office-caliber yet again with this new film. At the same time, Vijay also wanted to step his foot big in Kollywood. Amidst a lot of expectations, we have to see if the film can become a hit at the box office. Directed by Anand Shankar, the film is produced by Gnanvel Raja.
Varun (Vijay Deverakonda) is a happy-go-lucky guy and is the son of Chief Minister Vasudev (Nasser). Due to one warning by a Swamiji and a pending case, Vasudev steps down and makes Varun the Chief Minister who is a political novice. What was initially called as a Temporary arrangement, Varun becomes full-time CM. Rest of the story is all about the challenges Varun faces? How he overcomes that? What he works after becoming the Chief Minister.
Mehreen has never played a character like this before. She gave her best for the role. Mehreen not only looked gorgeous and impressed with her acting as well.
Sathyaraj never disappoints us with his selection of roles and here he got another career best role. Nassar delivered a great job. He acted really well and convinced us with his performance. Yashika Annand got a good role in the film and acted well.
The production values by Gnanavel Raja are rich and the producer hasn’t compromised in terms of quality.
Music by Sam C.S is worth appreciating. He scored good music which can be considered as one of the major highlights of the film.
Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran handled the camera really well. Editing by Raymond Derrick Crasta is neat and he made sure to edit out all the draggy scenes but then the film suffers some narration problems.
The film has Tamil flavor all over which is a drawback again
Vijay Deverakonda's NOTA comes off as a decent fare. One does feel that the film could have explored more areas with such a good concept in hand, but at the same time, its a fairly engaging, watchable film on governance.
