Navy Day is celebrated on December 4 every year to honour the Indian Navy’s attack on Karachi harbour during the 1971 India-Pakistan war, causing huge losses on the enemies. Prime minister Narendra Modi, president Ram Nath Kovind, high rank officials and many politicians too shared their tribute towards navy personnel and recognised their invaluable contribution in protecting the maritime frontiers of the nation.
