Lover’s Day Movie Review
Priya Prakash Varrier and Roshan Abdul Rahoof's much-hyped movie, Lovers Day, has failed to live up to the expectations of the audience. Hence it has received an average review and rating from Telugu audience and critics.
Oru Adhaar Love became a nation-wide sensation after Priya Prakash Varrier's wink scene went viral on social media. The makers of the movie dubbed and released it in Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada along with its original version in a bid to cash in on the hype and curiosity generated by its promo.
Story: The entire story is set with the high school backdrop. The movie deals with teenage romance scenes, fights between juniors and seniors etc. The story of the movie revolves around Roshan Abdul Rahoof going around Priya Prakash Warrier and trying to impress her. Priya doesn't want to get in a relationship and keeps on denying Roshan. Then enters Noorin Shereef as Gadha, a tomboy to the rescue and to set up his friends with each other. There will be some cute and romantic scenes between leads. However, the rest of the story showcases whether Priya accepts his love or not.
Performance: The chemistry between Priya Prakash Varrier and Roshan Abdul Rahoof, is highlighted and both the actors have given decent performance. Roshan Abdul Rahoof impresses the audiences by his performance skills and dancing abilities.
Priya Prakash Varrier’s acting and way of dialogue delivery need applause. Noorin Shereef, who plays Gatha John, is one of the major assets of Lover’s day. She is the heart and soul of the movie. She looks beautiful and she has given a fantastic performance.
Michelle Ann Daniel delivers an appreciable performance. Arun A Kumar is fine. Rest of the cast performed accordingly.
Technical Aspects: Music by Shaan Rahman is undoubtedly the highlight of the film. His beautiful music elevated so many romantic scenes which became a plus point for the film. The producers have invested enough amount for the movie. The production values of Ouseppachan Movie House are lavish. Editing by Achu Vijayan is clean. The camera angles of the Sinu Sidharth are very good. Overall, the technical team did a good job.
Director Omar Lulu is one of the hitmakers in Mollywood and the director has prepared a simple realistic and cute love story for the film. Though there are not many twists and turns in the movie, he has narrated the film in the cutest way which will definitely gain more brownie points for the film. Though the director tried to showcase the difference between love and friendship in a beautiful way, he has utterly failed to impress the audience with his narration. The performances are really good by the actors. The first half of the movie is pleasant and fun filled with some teenage romance, the introduction of the characters etc.
Some of the funny scenes also came out well but the second half is really draggy and there are no interesting sequences in the movie which became one of the minus points for the film. The director failed to focus on the actual point of the film and there are so many deviations which will irk the audience. Overall, the movie is a simple romantic drama with a few shortcomings.
