Game Over movie Review
Game Over was in news and created high hypo before the movie release because of Taapsee’s factor. The movie is a psychological thriller released today and lets see whether it has anything interesting in store for us or not.
Taapsee acted as Swapna in the movie and she is a video gaming developer who works from home. The drastic change in her life states when she gets a tattoo done on her hand and from than she starts getting weird dreams and also is targeted by some wicked invaders at her home who try to kill her. Who are these people? What are the dreams all about? and How will Taapsee fight her internal and external problems? To get answers to the questions while when you watch the movie on the big screen.
The script of the movie good and wrote in different layer and in some stages you feels like watching a horror movie and then proceedings have a lot of suspense and create good thrills especially in the second half.
Performance of Taapsee and screen presence are the primarily clicks for Game Over movie.Taapsee’s expressions and the way in she showcases her helplessness in critical scenes are first class in the movie. She is wheel chair bound most of the time in the film and gives her best in every scene.
The second half is the big asset to the movie where the actual action happens and it's a mix of the thrills showcased, the suspence created and performances during this time are very good. The various twists that come during this time have been executed well.
The first of the movie story is not that good and failed to give thrills. First of goes very slow and actual point is shown after a long time and lacks the expected thrills and suspense filled episodes. The other minus point is intelligent screenplay which is a bit confusing for the common man. The house is invaded by strangers and their whereabouts and connection to the plot should have been explained in details.
Ron Yohann’s music composition is a plus to the movie and his work especially in the second half lifts the film to another level.Art design and the manner in which the house set up is shown looks good. Editing is better in the second half and should have done more work in the first half.
The director Ashwin Saravanan has done a justice to the movie where he takes his time to establish the story and accelerates his narration in the second half. His writing is good but should be more simple and understandable for every section of the audience things would have been even better. The situation is such that there will be a lot of doubts in the minds of the audience which should have been explained well.
The movie Game Over is a psychological thriller which has more interesting scenes in the second half. Taapsee performance is a plus and she made good attempt with her acting. A slow first half and confusing narration in certain places are drawbacks. This film is clearly for the multiplex audience as the movied to reach common man because of confusing scenes. If you manage to sit through the dull first half, things get really interesting in this thriller and make up for a decent watch this weekend.
