Drishyam Film Review | A Must Watch Thriller!
Film : Drishyam Cast : Venkatesh, Meena, Sapthagiri, Chaitanya Krishna, Nadhiya, Naresh and others Music : Sharreth Produced by : Suresh babu and Raj Kumar Directed by : Sripriya Censor certificate : U Run time : 158 Minutes Story : Ram babu(Venkatesh) who is a cable tv operator and is a happy going person in his village. He never thinks too long and stays cool with his wife Jyothi(Meena) and two daughters. There comes an unfortunate day where Ram Babu and his family fell into problems and the battle starts there. Rambabu starts to fight with all the problems to save his family. What did Ram Babu do to save his family? Why did Geetha Prabhakaran (Nadhiya) enter Rambabu’s life? The answers for the above questions cooks up the entire story of this film. Review : Performances : Victory venkatesh never fails as a remake hero and he tried his best to impress everyone with this film. And he proved again that he is unbeatable in remake flicks. His performance is a big asset for the film and he lived to the expectations and tried his best to get into the shoes of Mohan Lal. Meena played the wife role of Venkatesh in the film and she already acted in the original Malayalam version and she has given a decent performance in the film. The next person is Ravi Kale who has essayed the role of a constable Veerabhadram. He gave his powerful performance. Nadhiya has done a decent job and tried to be natural throughout the performance as a police officer. The remaining cast Sapthagiri, Naresh, Paruchuri, Chalapathi rao, Chaitanya Krishna supported the lead cast very well. Cinematography : The cinematography is handled by S Gopal reddy and he has used his experience in showing some beautiful visuals and the camera work is excellent in the film. Editing : Editor is Marthand K venkatesh and the film could be edited for few more scenes too. The film starts very slow and there is space for editor to cut short the film without any second thought in the first half. Music : The music is done by Sherrath. He earlier composed the music for the films like 180 and Naa Bangaru thalli. Though the music is not pleasant, he has given wonderful back ground score which elevated the scenes in the second half. Art Direction : Art direction by Vivek is impressive in the film. Dialogues & Screenplay : The dialogues are penned by Darling swamy and they are good and he could have concentrated a bit more for a better result and there are no big changes in the screenplay and it was handled by Paruchuri brothers. Review : The film is the Malayalam remake and the director did not concentrated much on making a few changes and it is a drawback where there isn’t much telugu nativity and most of the audience could not receive the film well. The first half of the film starts slow and the first twenty minutes make you feel too much bored but it picks up pace within no time. The thrilling aspects and emotional sequences of the film are dealt in a brilliant way. But the director Sripriya did not keep her expectations. The film is made with less budget and the production values are poor. The technical aspects if the film are not up to the level. Overall, Drishyam is a fantastic experience for those who did not watch the Malayalam version and is an okay film for the other people who has seen the film already in Malayalam. Its worthy to mention that the story is provided by Jeethu Joseph. Finally Drishyam is a sure shot hit with all the required things. Its worth to mention that all the credits should go to the original Malayalam version makers and Jeethu Joseph is the man behind the Drishyam!! First half : Slow But Good! Second Half : Excellent Especially Climax! Verdict : Drishyam is a clean family entertainer which will impress you for sure. Watch it with your family members and friends and have a great weekend. Remember Images may Deceive.!! Rating : 3/5 -SRI-
