Chitralahari movie Review
Director: Kishore Thirumala
Producers : Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar, Mohan Cherukuri
Music Director : Devisri Prasad
Supreme Star Sai Dharam Tej is all set to test his luck with Chitralahari, a sensible rom-com directed by Kishore Tirumala. Nivetha Pethuraj and Kalyani Priyadarshan are the heroines and Devi Sri Prasad composed the music. Here is the complete review of Chitralahari:
Vijay (Sai Dharam Tej), despite being a talented guy, often ends up as a loser right from his childhood. Lahari (KalyaniPriyadarshan ) enters his life and they fall in love with each other. Enters Swecha( Nivetha ), very practical girl, who is a friend to Lahari who influences Lahari that Vijay isn’t the right guy for her. Rest of the story is how Vijay succeeds in his career and in love.
Sai Dharam Tej
Entertainment and fresh narration
Music and Background score
Predictable plot and narration
Sai Dharam Tej performed well in the youngster character. His thick-beard look has also come in handy for the transformation. He has done fantastic job here.
Kalyani Priyadarshan is just okay, but Nivetha Pethuraju is attractive as corporate woman and also leaves an impression with her better acting skills.
Sunil and Vennela Kishore have provided some comic relief. Posani as Sai Dharam’s father has once again gets meaty role.
Director Kishore Thirumala, he has done just an okay job with the film. His strength is dialogues and emotions and he has executed them well here. Editing by Sreekar Prasad is ordinary as the second half has too many repetitive scenes which just adds to the length of the movie. Dialogues are well written especially the one where a lover is compared to Abhimanyu who knows entry and not exit.
Music by DSP is disappointing as some good songs would have made a world of difference to this film. Kalyani Priyadarshan has been dressed in a bad manner as she looks old school in most of the screens.
Chitralahari film is just an average. The slow pace and serious tone of the film may not be liked by a section of the audience who come expecting entertainment. The film has a decent first half but the second half lacks emotional connect and the plot sidelines. The performances and passable entertainment make the film just ok.
