Sarai Veeraju - Message Oriented - Movie Review
Starring:Ajay, Ramya Nambisan, Madhulika and others
Ajay comes back as hero with a new film. His first film as hero Aa Okkadu did not give him scope to showcase his talents completely. In Sarai Veeraju Ajay comes into his own and does a very impressive job. Story: Sarai Veeraju is a happy go lucky guy living in far off Narsipatnam. He us orphaned in his childhood and he becomes friend with Dhanalakshmi (Ramya Nambisan). She is also an orphan and she takes good care of Veeraju. Dhanalakshmi along with Veeraju brews illicit liquor and sells it for a living. While Dhanalakshmi has a soft corner for Veeraju he is only a good friend of Dhanu. Veeraju has a crush on a village girl Bahavana who has studied in town and hence is stylish and smart. Dhanalakshmi is all the time helping people who are in trouble but Veeraju does not like it. He says that one should mind his own business and be happy. A four member gang from the city comes to the village. They tempt Veeraju with easy money and make him to convince the villagers to invest in chain money multiplying scheme. Veeraju is rewarded with two lakhs for his help. But many poor villager commit suicide as their hard earned money has been stolen by the evil and wicked gang. The four evil guys do not leave the village but rape and torture Dhanalakshmi for questioning them. Dhanalakshmi expects Veeraju to come to her rescue but he is too drunk and when he finally wakes up in the morning it is too late. The death of Dhanalakshmi makes Veeraju seethe with revenge. The hunt is now on for tracing the four evil men. Veeraju first goes to Dubai and kills one of them and then he comes to Hyderabad to finish off the rest. He meets Preeti (Madhulika) and falls in love with her. Veeraju finally manages to kill all the evil men. Performance: Ajay plays the title role and he carries it with the require intensity and conviction. Ajay is equally t ease as a village ruffian Veeraju as well as the guy in the city who is out to seek revenge. Ramya Nambisan as the innocent but sensitive and responsible village belle comes up with a impressive performance. Madhulika as the city girl is okay. The rest of the star cast adds their bit to the film. Music is okay and the cinematography captures the village life beautifully. The first half runs on a light hearted manner but gets quite heavy in the second half. The film comes with a message – Don’t sit silently if something wrong is being done. Do your bit to set things right and show that you care. Sarai Veeraju is not a regular run of the mill film. Watch it for the sensitive performance of Ajay.
