Manam Movie Review
Release Date : 2014-05-23
A little against the formula, a little filmy, loads of cachinnation, not a tear-jerker and most importantly the three men cognate to each other in authentic life aren’t portraying a family drama in reel life. That brings in a plethora of alacritous suspense. The movie which everyone waited for is conclusively out and everyone waited to visually examine how it would be to optically discern three generations of prosperous actors collaborating. The story commences with the couple Radha (Naga Chaitanya) and Krishna (Samantha) preparing for the day of inception celebration of their six-year-old son Bittu alias Nageswara Rao. The couple argues over some diminutive issue. They decide to dissever and while going to meet the lawyer their car meets with a contingency and both die and the date is February 14. After few years Nageswara Rao (Nagarjuna) becomes a sizably voluminous business tycoon but he lives with his parents recollections. One day he fortuitously optically discerns Nagarjuna (Naga Chaitanya) in a flight and feels that his father Radha is reborn as Nagarjuna. Then he cerebrates that his mother Krishna is additionally somewhere and commences probing for her and conclusively finds her in the form of Priya (Samantha). Then Nageswara Rao decides to amalgamate both his father and mother. Meanwhile a geriatric man Chaitanya (ANR) enters the scene . Chaitanya met with a contingency and he was preserved by Anjali (Shriya) and Nageswara Rao. At the hospital Chaitanya visually perceives both Nageswara Rao and Anjali and identifies them as his parents who lost their lives in a contingency when he was a puerile boy. Here comes the flashback of Chaitanya. The rest of the story is how the two couples reunite again, did they ken about their past life and what is the connection of the date February 14?How are all these people connected? What is the mystery behind these rebirths? What role does the clock tower play? This is what Manam is all about.
Nagarjuna is impressive and so is Naga Chaitanya.
Akkineni Nagewswar:Legends need no mention. ANR, in his limited reel time, shows us how easy it is for an actor of his calibre to express varied emotions — like that of a child’s naughtiness, a brooding son and a strict grandfather. The chemistry between him and Naga Chaitanya gives rise to some of the best moments of the film.
Naga Chaitanya has done a decent job and compared to his earlier films he matured a lot as an actor.
Akhil Akkineni’s special entry is a treat to watch. This guy will make a very big impact on Tollywood in the years to come and he is a star in the making.
Samantha :this is going to be one of her best performance till date and she has been constantly getting very good roles. She perfectly fits into the two characters she played. She steals the show along with Nag
Shriya has done a great job in the second half.
Amitabh Bachchan appears as a Doctor in KIMS.
Comedy is not over the top and M.S. Narayana as the ‘Father’ of St. Xaviers College makes us really ‘Praise the lord’.
Technicalities in the film:
PS Vinod has worked his magic and the visuals look excellent. Cinematography is the major asset for the movie. Anoop Rubens Music and BS Harshavardan's dialogue writing skillsWhen three generations of actors, it’s not an easy task for the director. But Vikram Kumar has come out with a nice story and screenplay and created a classic masterpiece. Though there are past life regressions and rebirths, the director’s intelligent screenplay makes you to see more comfortably without any confusion. There are a few sentimental scenes and dialogues and especially the three Akkinenis together.
